Felsham Road

Our clients wanted to transform a derelict Victorian terraced house into a cool urban pad. The goal was to redevelop the house and greatly enhance its value for sale.

The vision was of a hotel-style suite in the roof with a glass wall to the bathroom providing far reaching views across London. The ground floor would include a minimalist modern glass extension with walls of hidden storage. On the outside, architectural planters would conceal a barbeque for entertaining.

Above all else the property needed an immediate ‘wow’ factor to attract potential buyers.

The property was small and terraced, limiting the scope for expansion. It was also subject to the usual planning restrictions of the Putney Conservation Area.

Dyer Grimes Architects achieved full planning permission for the proposed designs, thanks to our long standing relationship with the local conservation officers. These included building the extra rooms as well as opening up the entire house to provide the desired feeling of space.

We worked closely with local Estate Agents throughout the process to ensure that our designs would achieve a significant uplift on the value of the property.

Shortly after completion, the house was sold at sealed bids for 25 per cent above the asking price, setting a new street record.
