Flat conversion in Richmond

Dyer Grimes Architecture are delighted to announce that we have received planning permission to restore a subdivided Victorian house in the St. Matthias Conservation Area back to its original purpose as a single family home.

The focus of our negotiations with Richmond Upon Thames planning authority was our work at the rear of the property, where we will replace an incongruous mess of unsympathetic alterations with a two storey extension to unify the house and improve garden access.

As this house in question is a Building of Townscape Merit, the application was only slightly less involved than a listed building. Nonetheless, the planning and heritage officers of Richmond Upon Thames were reassured by the quality of our proposals and our portfolio of heritage restorations.

Once complete, our clients will enjoy a beautifully restored five bedroom family home with direct access to a newly landscaped garden terrace and a self-contained “granny flat” in the lower ground floor.
