Planning Approval for 3,200 sqft Wandsworth Home with Full Plan Basement

Saturday, September 1, 2018

Dyer Grimes Architecture is delighted to announce that we have received planning permission from Wandsworth Borough Council to demolish the majority of a small, four bedroom house and replace it with a 3,200 sqft new build with a full plan basement.

The site is within the Wandsworth Common Conservation Area, which typically means that demolitions are off the table. However, by preserving the façade of the original house, we were able to keep both client and the planning department happy.

While unchanged from the front, the rear will boast a new, light-filled design thanks to an abundance of floor-to-ceiling Crittal windows. The added space from the full plan basement will be put to good use with a swimming pool, TV room and gym.

Energy efficiency and sustainability standards for new builds will be fulfilled thanks to PV panels on the roof and a combined heat and power plant.
